Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spikey blonde locks and pump up personality, explains easy techniques anyone can master. Chef Burrell has worked in several of the most prestigious restaurants located in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a youngster, growing up in New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. After earning an English and Communication diploma at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the restaurant business by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America. I enjoyed every moment that I was a student of The Culinary Institute of America she declares. The Culinary Institute of America was an excellent place to study. After graduation, Burrell spent one year studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. In Italy, Chef Burrell developed an appreciation for and understanding of Italian culinary traditions. It made a huge influence on her perception of food. Burrell is a well-known ambassador for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids who have challenges. She has been a frequent speaker at conferences and travels across the nation as part of her mentorship job. Anne has stated throughout her culinary career she is incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to share with others what is essential for her.
